Iolanthe           

(or "The Peer and the Peri")

Crosby Civic Hall, 3rd to 7th February 2009

Iolanthe tells the story of a fairy who commits the awful sin of falling in love with a mortal man.  Banished from Fairyland, she watches over her half-mortal son as he falls in love with the ward of the Lord Chancellor of England.  To win his love and overcome the opposition of the House of Peers, Strephon will need the help of the Queen of Fairyland.
